12 Sep Why is everyone terrified of carbs? All balanced diets should have carbs included.
Many of the fad diets of today profess the elimination of carbs from the diet. These diets come and go and do very little to provide long-term changes in our weight, health and well being. If you travel to Italy, you will see two significant things: 1. People live to old ages, and 2. Most people on the street are lean and healthy looking. Walking in Rome or Florence, you will rarely see the sites (sizes) of people you see in America. We own Obesity, they do not. The interesting thing is that most Italians have pasta in every meal. So I conclude, Carbs and Pasta is not the problem. All balanced diets require carbs (and I prefer PASTA) and vegetables, fruits, non-processed foods, and protein. All in moderation. The great example to point out is the current US Women’s Tennis Open where two Italian women will meet in the finals for the Championship. Go Italy.
Vinci and Pennetta are great examples of PASTA Eaters that are in great shape and the PASTA has given them great energy and stamina. So the moral of the story is: EAT MORE PASTA!
